Testing...

Last week we bought a Sony Bloggie video camera with my birthday gift certificates to Amazon, courtesy of my sister Rachel. It's a lot like the Flip video camera, but has a bigger screen and a lot slimmer. We have a normal one, but every time I whip it out Kai runs right to it because he wants to see what's going on. With the Bloggie it looks VERY similar to my phone, so he doesn't pay much attention to it. I know, very sneaky :) So this is officially our first posted video...hope it works!!

Egg Hunt.

Here are just a few pictures from Saturday's egg hunt adventure! The Warrensburg Community Center put on a big Easter egg hunt at the fair grounds, and it was surprisingly pretty fun. Extremely muddy, but fun:) I was surprised to see that the kiddos were so eager to get hunting, but I wasn't shocked when the excitement of picking up eggs lost its "fun factor" in less than 30 seconds! Lots of fun, lots of mud and one scary looking Easter Bunny...seriously, they should probably invest in a new costume. Yikes.

Paradise Park.

Yesterday Kai and I went on a little adventure to Paradise Park with our friends Kerington and Lori. I had heard about this place from a couple different people and was soooo glad we went! It's like a mini town, all for kids - talk about getting in-touch with your creative side!! In this little "town" there is a grocery store, a bank, a home and even a pizza parlor! It was so cute to watch Kai run around...he mainly hung around anything with buttons that he could push...and the phone. But the phones actually call other phones in the other areas, so he and Kerington chatted it up! At one point he carried around this pot from the kitchen for about 10 minutes and this little boy, Luke (I only know because his mom kept saying "Luke NO, Luke NO") kept trying to take the pot...man I wish I would have gotten a picture of the look he gave this kid. Phew, talk about the evil eye!

In other areas of the park they had a story time center, a movie/activity room, an arts/crafts room, a "splash" area where the kids could play with water, a barn area where they had all these barns and houses set up with animals and people, and they even had a cooking area where they did cooking demonstrations for the kiddos! Outside they had this little fake pond where the kids could fish and a playground, but it was wet and dreary so we didn't stay out for too long :) It was a lot of fun to see Kai's little creative mind go to work. At first I think he was a little overwhelmed, but he had such a blast that he even snored on the way home. Sooooo...yep, we'll be going back there soon :)

Arts & Crafts
Face coloring...oh the joys...
Fishing pond - I love how he's standing on his tippy toes :)Water station...yes they were SOAKEDPlaying with barn animals. Mooooooo

Copy Cat.

Lately Malachi has taken to copying exactly what we do, no matter what it is, if we're doing it, he wants in. As mean (but highly entertaining) as it may sound, Brian and I have our fair share of fun with this. Our favorite, of late, is when I give him a thumbs up. He hasn't quite figured out how to only stick up his thumbs so he sticks his pointer finger and thumb up. It just makes me smile...and yes, I do it about a dozen times a day. He is just so much fun right now. love.him.to.pieces.

This was when he was trying to figure out how to fold his arms.
It cracks me up every time so I had to share it :)

My Apologies.

We have been so so so so so busy around here that I haven't had time/energy/motivation to blog! Just to give a quick recap...

2 weekends ago we went to Texas for the Final Four!! Yaaaay! We flew into Dallas, spent the night with some of our best best friends (Matt & Lindsey) and their wicked cute daughter, Avery. Seriously, she's a doll. We had so much fun catching up and pretty much stayed up as late as possible just laughing. I miss that. LOTS. The next morning we drove down to Houston and guess what...my sister and Bautista came!! Again, we had lots of fun and many laughs. Sometimes I forget how much I really miss my family. I think everyone should move to where I am...friends, family, EVERYONE.

We got back to Missouri April 3rd...and it was a LOOOOOOONG week. Kai didn't sleep through the night AT ALL. Jokes on us for letting him sleep in our bed when we were in Texas. Won't be doing that again any time soon...I mean, ever. Yuck.

The following weekend (last weekend) I headed to Colorado for Amber's bachelorette party. We stayed the weekend up in Breckenridge (BEAUTIFUL) and just had some quality girl time. Saturday morning was a little rough for some, but we had LOTS and LOTS of inappropriate fun (just look at the cake...)

So I got back Sunday late afternoon and guess what...Kai still wasn't back to sleeping through the night. Can you say nightmare?! He would wake up between 1am and 3am and just be ready to play. Monday morning we got up with him and after I had a complete emotional breakdown (it wasn't pretty folks), we decided that we were going to let him cry it out for the next couple of nights. Now if you know me you know I can't stand to listen to him crying so this was really difficult...SERIOUSLY. Thankfully he's been a pretty good sleeper since day 1 and we didn't have to do too much sleep training or I would have failed miserably. So 2 nights of crying and we are back to sleeping 12+ hours. Amen.

Tomorrow we are headed to good ole Lincoln, NE to go to Lindsay Thomas' baby shower!! Not going to lie, I'm really only going because it's so much closer than driving all the way down to Dallas to see her, but hey, I guess I can bring a little gift for the baby too :)
