A Penny For Your Thoughts.

This is a short little diddy about a little boy who swallowed a penny. 2 days later, he pooped it right out. I would share a picture, but I just find that unnecessary. The penny was flushed along with the rest of it's contents. End of story.

So I've Been Slacking...

Yeah yeah yeah so it's been awhile since I've posted anything, but let me tell you that life is crazy and by the end of the day I can definitely think of a million other things that I'd rather do than blog. But alas, here I am.

Finally, after having visitors pretty much every weekend since March, our little family has a little break. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE having visitors and if we had them every weekend that would be A-O-K, but boy were we pooped. My sister Meredith visited for a week, then 2 days later Rachel came to visit for a couple days and the day after she left Brian's old roomie, JD, and his 2 kiddos came. WOAH. Lots and lots of fun was had, but finally we had a break. THEN off to Colorado in a couple of weeks to visit family and friends...and Kai gets to meet his 2 cousins (and I get to meet little G!!) We are very blessed to have such great family and friends and though it does get tiring, I would love if people came and visited ALL the time :)

So here are a couple of pictures to get us up to speed. Enjoy.

Oh and the last picture reminds me. We have officially stopped swaddling Kai - it actually WENT pretty well, though he is currently waking up at 2:30A and refuses to take a nap longer than 30 minutes unswaddled. I am now questioning why I would change something that was going so great. Ugh. Also, a big shout out to Schneider who sent Kai this sleep sack. He LOVES it.

Boot Scoot and Boogie.

Well it's official. I guess it has been official for a couple weeks now, but every day it gets "more" official. Kai is scoot crawling...unfortunately it is only backwards. And by backwards I mean, always under the couch. And by always I mean, ALWAYS. Every day for about a week he will roll and scoot and push until he is under the couch in the same exact spot. Then when I laugh at him as he is pouting for being stuck (obviously his head doesn't fit under there) he just pouts more. It's actually all very entertaining. No worries though, mommy always comes to the rescue! It makes me smile every time. Silly little booger.

No It's Not Poop.

So recently we've been gradually giving Kai some finger foods. We started with these little rice husk things that he LOVED and then moved to puffs, dried yogurt things and then these other little things that make him smell like maple syrup for days. He seems to LOVE being able to feed himself, though it did seem to take him a VERY long time (in "mommy days") to figure it out. I even tried cutting up some banana and letting him feed himself little chunks of that BUT you should see his face when he grabbed some - he was NOT impressed. So for now, I continue to hand feed him the banana - sometimes we just let him bite right off the end, but he tends to try to shove the whole thing in there so we're holding off on that for now. Anyway...so lately he's been teething (amen, amen his first top tooth finally broke through yesterday!), but since he's been teething he's been putting more things in his mouth. WELL, I found these things called Biter Biscuits at the store. A couple of friends told me about them so I figured I'd give them a go. WELL LET ME TELL YOU THEY ARE NASTY! He love love loves them, but they make a terrible mess AND since they are a fairly hard he can't really bite into them so it ends up being this brown slobbery mess. Yes, it was gag worthy. But it was all worth it since he seemed to enjoy it so much. I couldn't help but laugh watching him devour it. Technically not devour since he really just sucked it. He did, however, take one big bit off the end which I had to take out of his mouth for fear of choking. Phew, this momma stuff is sometimes so hard...BUT SO WORTH IT!
