Golf.

I was hesitant at first, but Brian talked me into it. He said it would be fun for Kai to run around and it would be good for us to be out enjoying the sun. I was afraid of all the dirty looks we'd get for taking a kid with us, but once we were there I remembered where we were: Warrensburg. Pertle Springs is one of two golf courses in the Burg...and the other one is the "country club" so we stick to the cheapy stuff. We haven't officially been "golfing" per se, but going to the driving range is just as much work and a whole lot of fun. I was really nervous about keeping an eye on Kai and I had many many many many visions of me hitting him in the head with a) my club or b) my ball that I hit backward for some OHHH MYY reason. Neither of which has happened...yet. Kai just dumps all the balls out, kicks them (or hits them with the club), goes around picking up ALL the broken tees he can find and sticking them in the ground, putting all the balls back into the bucket...or into our golf bags and occasionally he'll dart for the range chasing some crazy ball that I just hit. It is actually quite relaxing, enjoyable and funny. Clearly I don't take my golfing TOO seriously...I mean, let's be honest, I'm not a serious enough person to take it seriously, so I just go out, hit the ball as hard as I can with whatever club I have and go with it. Once in awhile I'll get frustrated for not hitting it straight, but those are few and...okay, I usually want to cuss every time I hit the ball, but hey, Kai keeps me too distracted :o) Maybe soon we'll get him his own tiny clubs and Brian can teach him a thing or two...but in the meantime, I'll just enjoy watching him tee up my ball and yell 1-2-3 GOOOOOOOOO! love.him.to.pieces.

Every Morning...

These boys have been doing this every morning since we got back from Colorado. They sit on the edge of the carpet, push their cars and clap for each other for about 30 minutes. In this video only Kai has a car, but this was the first time they had done it...since then Hayden has picked out his own car. Both use the same car every time. Sometimes it gets rowdy, but most of the time its just cars, claps and giggles.

Blogging Blues...Take II

So I have been a little MIA lately. Every day I wake up and put "post new blog" on my to-do list...it's one that has yet to be crossed off for weeks. There is no real excuse for it, I am just in a slump. A big fat blogging slump. Soooooooooo lucky for you all, you get one big quick post of an update. And so the list begins..........

1. We bought a house. Yep, that's right, our first one. It's just a little diddy right down the street from us. It was really random and really quick. We drove by an open house on a Sunday (Easter to be exact), looked in and called the realtor the next morning to set up a meeting. Met with her Tuesday, looked at it again and decided to talk about it that night. Wednesday we told her we were going for it and so on Thursday we signed all the contract paper work and called it a deal. We don't officially close until July 15th, which just happens to be the same day that my sister-in-law closes on her house in Overland Park (down the street from us!!!) So it's going to be one big crazy mid July of moving. WOOO HOOO!

2. Because of the house my latest obsession (seriously OBBBBBSESSION) has been pinterest.com. So fun, so addicting, cute ideas and a great way to waste a lot of time for when you are really trying to avoid cleaning and/or laundry. I think I need (want) a maid so I can focus on my interior design skills HA! ;o)

3. Last week we went to Colorado for Amber's fanTABulous wedding. We had lots of fun, lots of laughs and it was absolutely gorgeous. Annnnnnd let me not forget to mention that Kai was the most handsome ring bearer in the history of ring bearers. Kai was a stinking trooper. Big thanks to all the people who helped out so much with Kai. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Bride & Groom (rehearsal)

Kai and I at the rehearsal - how beautiful is that!?!

Rehearsal dinner - HELP!

Eat this chip. NOW.

3a. Got my first spray tan. WOOOOOOW what an experience...nothing like being completely naked in-front of a stranger while she's spraying you African. Tip of the day: if you get a spray tan do NOT wear lace underwear...it gives you a nice lacy tan.

3b. Horray for family!!! I am so very blessed to love love love my in-laws. And no, I am not just saying this because I know they are bound to read it. I'm saying it because I really truly mean it! I consider them like my own family and get just as excited to see them as I do to see my immediate family. They are all so sweet, loving, funny and I always have a good time being with them. After the wedding on Friday VICTORIAAAAA (Brian's mom) drove us up to Fort Collins for my "cousin-in-law's" graduation party. Woooo Hoooo for a good time at the Cropps! Kai loved playing with the dogs and cousin Ryan!!! That night we drove down to the Springs and Kai slept the WHOLE way and then went right to bed when we got home. Apparently the mix of wedding and graduation festivities completely exhausted him. WHAT A TROOPER!

Feeding Duncan some "cwackews"

Grammie time!

Papa turns out to be a GENIUS with this trick!!

Playing in Ryan's Tonka truck from when he was little :o)

3c. I miss Colorado. That includes everyone and everything that is there. Every time I come back from there my heart aches for days and days. That is all I will say about my feelings on that.

4. Well it is the end of the Hayden/Kai era. It is sad, but we knew it would come. The Learning Garden had an opening for Hayden's age and since openings come few and far between Melissa decided to start bringing Hayden there. It's sad that Kai won't get to play with his buddy every day, but I totally understand. I hope Melissa realizes that I'm going to become "that friend" that calls her every day asking to come over and play. Deal with it, it's just how I roll ;o) Hayden's last day here is May 31st. Boo.

5. I am looking to watch another kiddo or two, but for now I'm just going to go on a few trips before I have to start paying for Kai's plane ticket! We were already planning on going to Maine for the 4th of July week, which I officially booked yesterday and now that I am not going to be watching Hayden my sister offered to fly us out to Cali to spend some time with her. She has June 8th-12th off so we are going to get Kai all surfed up and ready to boogie (board) hahaha. I crack myself up.

6. My mom comes on Tuesday!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!! She is done with chemo and starts radiation on June 2nd, but thankfully she will be able to spend a few solids days with us (6 to be exact!!!) I cannot tell you how excited I am to see her. She is my best friend and I am so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so EXCITED!

And I think that pretty much sums up my last few weeks in a nut-shell. Amen.
